Great Broads Clean-Up - Hoveton Parish Council was contacted recently with a request for funding from a pupil at Broadland High School who, in return for local sponsorship, will carry out a ‘great Broads clean-up’ campaign. This campaign will see the young man Kayaking a minimum of 100 miles around the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads’ waterways to remove as much litter as possible, particularly litter that is trapped in areas of reeds, in dense bushes, or in shallow water which is only reachable by kayak. Much of this waste is non-biodegradable and will remain in the Broads waterways forever unless it is removed. HPC is happy to support and promote this valuable campaign and the enterprising local student behind it. Please note:  HPC’s Clerk will be on annual leave from Monday 20 to Tuesday 28 August.  For any urgent issues during that time please contact one of the parish councillors via the menu above.
